Here in the lowcountry everywhere you look there is water or signs there of. Water is just one of the significant elements that lure people here to visit and sometimes stay. This collection of works is inspired by the bodies of water that surround us and will include works by Darrell Davis, Colin Page, Shannon Smith Hughes, Betty Anglin Smith, Jennifer Smith Rogers, Susan Mayfield and Tripp Smith.

Their paintings will be in the silent bid auction along with a painting by Betty Anglin Smith and Jennifer Smith Rogers. Auction paintings will be in our gallery with bids open until December 15, 2013. Each participating gallery will do the same. This is a great event not to be missed… So if you see a painting you like… place a sealed bid! The proceeds from the auctioned paintings will be donated to our County’s high schools for art supplies. Did you know that CFADA has raised over $275,000. for area high school art programs over the last 10 years? Thank you to those of you who purchase these paintings as well as the artists who donate them! Here are some details from Artmag.com

Through the support of many patrons over the years, there will hot coffee and bites available at no charge for the visitors and collectors who come to encourage and peruse the works as they are being created. The paintings made in the park by the gallery artists will be auctioned by silent auction in the individual galleries over a month’s time.  They will also be viewable online a few days after the event.  Bids may be made during the Painting in the Park.
