November in Charleston, SC is always an exciting time for art lovers. This past November was no exception. A group of artists called Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAPSE) were in town painting “en plein air” (in the open air) – their paintings are incredible. It was wonderful to have two of our artists as part of that group! Jennifer Smith Rogers and Shannon Smith Hughes both painted their hearts out for several days.

Plein air painting takes a special skill. Painting while the light is changing ever so quickly is always a challenge!

The show was spread among three galleries on Broad Street, all within close proximity to each other. Coco Vivo Fine Art, Edward Dare Gallery and Galerie on Broad. In this photo, Shannon and Jennifer’s work was shown at Coco Vivo, there was an opening reception back in November. It was so exciting to see what these nationally renowed artists painted!
