Jennifer Smith Rogers
Artist Statement+
Whether painting landscape or architecture, I aim to capture a dramatic sense of light and mood. My paintings are a visual reaction of my emotional response to my surroundings. Night scenes, panoramic vistas of the city’s rooftops, and big dramatic skies are recurrent themes in my work. Painting with a sense of immediacy, exaggerating color and using painterly brushstrokes categorize my style as expressionistic realism.
