On Sunday, November 16, the Smiths invited clients out to Betty’s studio in Meggett for an event that’s becoming a bit of a tradition… the Clothespin Show!

The Clothespin Show features paintings on paper by all of the Smiths — and that doesn’t just mean Betty, Shannon, and Jennifer. Even Tripp traded in his camera for a paintbrush for the event. Husbands, children, and cousins chipped in too, as well as gallery director Leigh Limehouse and staff member Katie Geer.

The event was well attended (despite some rain), and guests sipped on bloody marys and snacked on artful appetizers while browsing the paintings.

One of the best parts about the Clothespin Show: Twenty percent of funds raised go to the Lowcountry Food Bank (LCFB). Through LCFB, every $1 provides food for 6 meals for hungry children, families, and seniors in 10 coastal counties of South Carolina. So far, the event has raised about $2,000 for the organization.

But it’s not too late to snag your own painting on paper and help the LCFB. There are additional paintings at the gallery atop the “Charity Tree.”

We think these paintings would look pretty good UNDER your Christmas tree, too!
