Shannon Smith married Clay Hughes on April 27, 2013. What a beautiful wedding!
You know how it is when you live in the same neighborhood as someone, where you see them on occasion, but never have the opportunity to meet? Well that all changed at a Zach Brown concert, October 2011. A spark was ignited and the rest is history!
I know! You want details… photos… right? There are so many fabulous photographs of their wedding, it was difficult to narrow it down!
Let’s start off with the story…
The proposal was too romantic! After dinner at Carter’s Kitchen in Mount Pleasant, SC, the couple headed to Sullivan’s Island to view the Gemini Meteor Show. They saw a shooting star, and then… Clay asked Shannon “What are you doing for the next 50 years?” Can you imagine? How sweet was that? Of course Shannon said she “hoped to spend it married to a great guy named Clay”!
Clay has two sweet daughters, Eliza and Anna Claire (photo from Christmas Eve 2012)
Shannon drew the oak tree with a tiny star hidden in it, which was used for the letter pressed invitation. Isn’t that the sweetest? Betty had it framed for her, what a special keepsake!
The wedding day… there was a chance of rain was in the forecast, but everything turned out beautifully!
Jennifer was the matron of honor… we think she should always wear green!
Family members of both the bride and groom were part of the wedding. The maidens: Clay’s daughters Anna Claire and Eliza as well as Clay’s niece, Sarah Williamson. The maiden’s also included Shannon’s nieces, Ellie and Perrin Rogers, and her niece Hadley Smith was a flower girl! Too sweet! What fabulous memories!
Shannon and Clay were married at RiverOaks Charleston, located in Awendaw, SC – a stunning location to say the least!
Everything was beautiful… and oooh, those cakes!!
And just look at this menu! Oh. My. Word. All I can say is YES PLEASE!!
RiverOaks Charleston was the perfect place to say “I DO”! (How creative is this??!!)
The car is Angela Medlock’s ’56 Olds, “Bernadette” – absolute perfection!
Then off to Coco Bistro Turks & Caicos for the honeymoon… this is what dreams are made of!
We wish them the happiest ever after!
