A Week Spent Plein Air Painting in Rural Tennessee
This week, Shannon and Jennifer hit the road and traveled to Tennessee. The artists were joining other members of PAPSE – the Plein air Painters of the Southeast – in Leiper’s Fork, a rural village about 30 miles south of Nashville.
Throughout the week, Shannon, Jennifer, and other talented plein air painters (such as Mark Horton, Ann Blair Brown, Larry Brown, and many others!) would set up their easels, pull out their paints, and capture their beautiful surroundings on canvas. The fall colors made the quaint town of Leiper’s Fork especially paintable.
The week ended on Friday with a paint-out and a following exhibition and “wet paint” sale of their works from the week at Leiper’s Creek Gallery.
We can’t wait for Shannon and Jennifer to get back and hang their new pieces in the gallery.
